Car Black Box?
Car Black Box or Video Drive Recorder is a device installed in car windshield to record video, audio & GPS data related to vehicle impact or accidents. Car Black Box is triggered by embeded G-sensor when sudden motions changes in X, Y and Z axis occurs, such as acceleration, sudden stop and sharp turns. One or more of these conditions may occur because of an accident. Information from device is stored in memory card and can be analyzed to help determine what the vehicles were doing before, during and after the crash or event. The term generally refers to a simple, tamper-proof, read-write memory device, similar to the "black box" found on airplanes (as opposed to the tape recorders and video cameras common in police vehicles and many commercial trucks)
Followingis 5 main features of Car Black Box 1. Real-time Recording
As soon as power is turned on Car Black Box goes to work. Start to record video and GPS data (GPS data might not recorded depend on GPS signal strength.) in every 5 minute.
2. Event Recording
If an accident or any impact occurs, device automatically detects it though a G-sensor and records 10 second before & after event and saves data as a shock event.
3. Manual Event Recording
Even without physical impact to the vehicle from an accident the device able to record and saved event by pressing emergency button. (Manual event is saved as 'Emergency' event and length are same as 'Shock' event.
4. G-sensor graph
The device records and stores all vehicle motions including sudden acceleration, braking and sharp turns by X, Y and Z axis.
5. Data replay
All stored data can be replay on PC without downloading new program. It also simultaneously plays the GPS information so user can view vehicle's location on Google map and current speed.
